While more linear in it’s structure, Welcome to Pine Point is another inspiration in terms of storytelling and use of multimedia. Similar to Soul Patron, it includes animation, photos, video content as well as diagetic and non-diagetic sound. What inspires me about this online documentary is the how the storytelling is integrated with the real events and how the art style, film and audio reflects these events.

Welcome to Pine Point is the nostalgic reflection of a town that was closed down and is based upon the stories and experiences of ex-residents compiling a very personal history of the town. The recorded interviews of ex residents act as narration within the documentary and their stories and experiences are visualised by the use of compiled photographs, old footage and animated video content depicting the events being described by the interviewees.
